He previously worked at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a patent examiner. As an examiner, Mr. Waldbaum reviewed patent applications in a wide range of technologies, including cleaning fluid applications such as semiconductor wafer and glass processing, textile treatment, and turbine renewal. He gained valuable experience about the prosecution of patent application from the perspective of a patent examiner. Mr. Waldbaum has an engineering physics degree (B.S.) from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. At Miami University he was a member in the fraternity Pi Kappa Phi (??F). Mr. Waldbaum also participated in a 3-2 dual degree program between Miami University and Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri and thus has a chemical engineering degree (B.S.) from Washington University. He also has a law degree (J.D.) from Michigan State University, where he graduated cum laude with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law, including Patent, Trademark, and Copyright. Mr. Waldbaum is admitted to practice in Missouri and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Waldbaum enjoys watching sports, specifically ice hockey and soccer.
