Jason Becker is an attorney with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Staas & Halsey LLP. He gained valuable patent prosecution experience while working as a Summer Associate at Staas & Halsey LLP in 2009 as well as performing intellectual property (IP) contractor work for a large Midwest IP firm and a small Denver firm. Mr. Becker handles various technologies including computer hardware and software, telecommunications, electrical, mechanical engineering, medical devices, and business methods.

Before earning his law degree, Mr. Becker worked as a Technology and Security Risk Analyst at a large public accounting firm, performing computer/technology audits in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Additionally, he was a database programmer for a large international publishing firm.

Mr. Becker has a degree in Information Sciences and Technology (B.S.) from the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in State College, Pennsylvania. While at Penn State, he also earned a certification in network security from the National Security Agency (NSA). He holds a law degree (J.D.) from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) with a concentration in IP law including Patent, Trademark, and Copyright.

Mr. Becker is admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts of Colorado and New Jersey, as well as to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He holds memberships in both the Colorado and New Jersey State Bar Associations, as well as in the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

In his spare time, Mr. Becker enjoys fictional writing, sports and fitness, snowboarding, and breakdancing. He is also an avid Penn State sports fan.
