Gregory W. Harper is an attorney with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Staas & Halsey LLP. Prior to law school, he worked as an engineer for a defense contractor, designing and analyzing auxiliary systems for naval combatants. Mr. Harper also spent two years as an engineering officer aboard merchant vessels. While completing his legal education, he worked as a patent agent at an Arlington, Virginia firm specializing in patent prosecution of electromechanical applications.
Mr. Harper has a marine engineering systems degree (B.S.) with a concentration in Nuclear Engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a law degree (J.D.) from American University. He is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia and is also registered to practice before the Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Harper holds memberships in the New York State Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
