John R. Bednarz was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania. He graduated cum laude from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in computer science. He received his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, was the Technical Director of Impunity Watch, an executive editor for the Science and Technology Law Reporter, an associate editor of the National Italian American Bar Association Law Journal, and the recipient of the CALI award in his Patents and Trade Secrets class. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Bednarz worked as a software engineering intern with the United States Postal Service in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and as a software engineering intern with National Cash Register in Augsburg, Germany. During law school, Mr. Bednarz worked as a research associate for the New York State Science and Technology Law Center counseling clients in technology commercialization. In addition, Mr. Bednarz clerked as a patent prosecution summer associate, and interned at Auburn City Court in Auburn, New York. Mr. Bednarz has knowledge and expertise related to various mobile computing platforms including iPhone and Android and has personally developed iPhone "Apps" for the "App Store". Mr. Bednarz is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Bednarz's areas of expertise include the procurement of patents in the fields of software, internet applications, and wireless communications. Mr. Bednarz is admitted to practice in Virginia and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. |
